Raze ineligible BRS structures: Hyderabad High Court to GHMC

The final orders are to be communicated only to ineligible applicants to take further steps.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday directed the GHMC to process applications only of ineligible applicants under the Building Regularisation Scheme, pass final orders and take steps for demolition of illegal structures.

The court, however, asked the corporation not to communicate the final orders to eligible applicants. The final orders are to be communicated only to ineligible applicants to take further steps.

Ineligible applicants are those whose constructions have encroached on tank beds, nalas or public places, those who do not have permissions and who have violated the sanctioned plan beyond the permissible limit of 10 per cent.

A division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice A. Shankar Narayana partly modified its earlier interim orders granted on a petition filed by the Forum for Better Hyderabad, challenging the building regularisation scheme.
