Telugu Desam faults KCR for inviting Jagan to KLIS inauguration

Mr Jogi Reddy further said that he was amazed that Mr Chandrasekhar Rao had not invited the then irrigation minister.

Karimnagar: Telugu Desam district unit president Mr Ambati Joji Reddy on Tuesday he questioned the Chief Minister’s decision in inviting Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy who had not just opposed the construction of the Kaleshwaram project but also did dharna in Kurnool.

Speaking to the media at the party office in Karim-nagar, Mr Joji Reddy came down heavily on Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for inviting AP CM, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy and Maha-rashtra Chief Mini-ster, Mr Devendra Fadnavis for the inaugural ceremony of KLIS.

Mr Joji Reddy said that during separate Telangana movement, Mr Chandra-shekar Rao fought against the Andhra leaders alleging that they robbed water, funds and jobs of Telangana people and provoked the people against them. And now he was inviting the same leaders to Telan-gana; what could be the reason behind this, he wondered. He also asked the purpose of inaugurating such a project which did not have enough water.

He further added that it was the Maharashtra Gover-nment that had created hurdles and had opposed the construction of Pranahita-Chevalla project which was designed to get around 160 tmcs of water. Mr Jogi Reddy accused Mr Chandrshekar Rao of coolly forgetting that episode and inviting Mahara-shtra CM Mr Fadnavis for the inaugural ceremony of KLIS project.

This was being done as part his selfish political strategy and to cover his mistakes, Mr Reddy alleged and added that Mr Chandrasekhar Rao was trying to divert the attention of people by inviting those who had opposed the construction works of the projects.

Mr Jogi Reddy further said that he was amazed that Mr Chandrasekhar Rao had not invited the then irrigation minister, Mr T. Harish Rao, who strove hard day and night to complete the project in record time of just three years. He also added that was it not true that by redesigning the Pranahita-Chevalla project into Kalesh-waram which was undertaken during the reign of Y.S. Rajashekar Reddy at a cost of only `38,000 crore the cost of the project had increased to more than `1 lakh crore mainly because of the commissions that had to be distributed.

He further criticised Mr Chandrasekhar Rao of investing the amount that was collected through redesigning the project for purchasing the other party MLAs. The people of Telangana were watching every move of TRS and KCR and were readying to teach a fitting lesson in the days to come, he warned.

The TD leaders Mr N. Bala Goud, Mr P. Ravinder, Mr S. Rajesham, Mr D. Ramakrishna Reddy and Mr Kanthaiah were among those present in the press meet.
