Muthulakshmi Veerappan's wife launches new forum

Muthulakshmi said she has planned to tour Tamil Nadu to seek support for the organisation.

Salem: Muthulakshmi Veerappan, the wife of the slain forest brigand, Veerappan, launched a new outfit ‘Mann Kakkum Veera Thamizhar Peravai (Forum for Protecting the Interests of the Tamils)’ here on Thursday.

The brigand’s widow announced the formation of this new forum at a function here to mark the 66th birthday of Veerappan, after garlanding a portrait of her late husband. Veerappan was shot dead in a joint operation by the Tamil Nadu and Karnataka Special Task Force police in October 2004. Speaking to reporters on the occasion, Muthulakhsmi, said, “there is need for launching movements to raise our voice for getting our due share of Cauvery waters now, an issue that Veerappan had already raised. We are launching this outfit to support the people of Tamil Nadu in their public causes.” Muthulakshmi said she has planned to tour Tamil Nadu to seek support for the organisation.
