Suburban train works to begin in 2 months: Ananth Kumar

The first phase railway officials are planning to run suburban train from Bangalore city to K.R. Puram.

Bengaluru: While the Citizens for Bengaluru is fighting for the suburban rail services for the city, Union Minister for Chemical and Fertilizers Ananth Kumar on Saturday said that works relating to suburban rail will be taken up in the next two months. He was speaking after the inaugurating bus bay at N.R. Colony on Saturday.

Stating that the demand for suburban rail has been there from long, the Union Minister said, “I have already held meetings with senior railway officials. They have assured of making arrangements to commence works for suburban rail in next two months.”

He further stated that in the first phase railway officials are planning to run suburban train from Bangalore city to K.R. Puram. “In the later stages electric suburban trains will be operated on double track to Bidadi, Yeshwanthpura, Kengeri, Ramnagar and Bangarpet. Like Delhi and Mumbai local trains must be available for every two minutes,” he added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had requested people to bear with for 50 days to win over black money. He has requested people to embrace digital payment methods to curb black money and corruption, Ananth Kumar said and slammed Congress government for creating a logjam during the winter session of parliament.
