RTC MD Sunil Sharma charges false, says K Laxman

Laxman said the RTC MD must resign if he fails to prove the allegations he has made against BJP on the RTC issue.

HYDERABAD: BJP state president K. Laxman on Sunday condemned allegations made by RTC MD Sunil Sharma against opposition parties in the affidavit filed by the latter in the Telangana High Court on the RTC case. He went on to charge that Sunil Sharma was serving more as a TRS party worker than an IAS officer.

Laxman said the RTC MD must resign if he fails to prove the allegations he has made against BJP on the RTC issue. He said he would be filing a complaint against Sunil Sharma with the DoPT (Department of Personnel and Training).

The BJP president condemned the arrest of RTC JAC leaders Ashvatthama Reddy and Raji Reddy. He said even ministers and MLAs were unhappy with the way Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was dealing with issues related to strike by RTC employees.

On police preventing MRPS from holding its deeksha on Sunday, Laxman said it appears as though the CM has come to fear protests by people.

He demanded that leasing out of all RTC lands must be cancelled. He disclosed that he has also written a letter to Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan asking him to cancel licenses of petrol bunks set up on RTC lands.
