Bengaluru: The city traffic police booked 108 vehicles and riders for using altered and defective silencers in the traffic east subdivision.
Police say that they had received complaints that many bikes were using modified silencers and were creating a ruckus by zooming around late at night. A special drive was launched and in the last one month, 108 cases of defective silencers were detected.
“The vehicles were let off only after removing the defective silencers and replacing it with genuine ones. We are also searching for shops selling and fitting these silencers and will take action against them,”the police said.
