Boy missing in Old Hyderabad found in 1 hour

Officials claim the boy was missing for a hour or so, but there was a quick reunification with the family.

Hyderabad: A four-year old boy went missing at 1.40 pm from Esra Hospital in Charminar, Hyderabad. He was found later wandering far from the hospital premises, by a police patrol car. The child was identified as Bilal Syed.

“It was during prayer time. The family was in the hospital; Bilal was playing but later wandered off. We realized almost immediately, and started searching the premises of the hospital. However, we could not find him. Stressed out and worried we came back home heartbroken but we received a call after one hour from the police who informed us that our child was there. We are thankful to the Hyderabad police for finding him,” said Syed Khadeen, Bilal’s uncle.

Officials claim the boy was missing for a hour or so, but there was a quick reunification with the family.

“We are constantly on the prowl in the city, we always ensure that all children who are found wandering alone are questioned and their family members are notified. By always taking time to stop and asking the child, we avoid the child becoming more vulnerable to trafficking or being missing for long,” said Inspector Ranjit Kumar Goud, Moghalpura Police Station.

Bilal was reunified with this family after the police were able to authenticate the families connection to the boy.
