Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao directed TRS MPs to raise their voice to bifurcate the High Court at the earliest, during the monsoon session of Parliament.
He asked MPs to step up pressure on the Centre for the early bifurcation of the High Court by lodging strong protests both inside and outside the House. Mr Rao on Sunday held a marathon TRS parliamentary party meeting in New Delhi to devise the party's strategy for the monsoon session.
The party’s Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members were present at the meeting. Mr Rao asked MPs to support GST Bill in both the Houses. He also asked MPs to support all crucial bills being introduced by Centre during the monsoon session.
“Our main agenda for this monsoon session is to bring pressure on Centre for early bifurcation of High Court. We will also seek the support of other parties for the purpose. We will raise our voice and lodge protests both inside and outside the Parliament from day one till Centre comes forward to address the issue. However, we will support all the key bills including GST introduced by the government,” said B.Vinod Kumar, deputy floor leader of the TRS in the Lok Sabha.
The TRS has 12 Lok Sabha members and three Rajya Sabha members in Parlia-ment. Recently the Lok Sabha members from TD, Congress and YSRC — Ch Malla Reddy (Malkajgiri), Gutta Sukender Reddy (Nalgonda) and Pongu-leti Srinivas Reddy (Khammam) — joined TRS taking its strength in Lok Sabha to 15.
Mr Vinod Kumar said the party will also demand central funds for Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya and Haritha Haram. “The PM and Union ministers have praised these schemes several times earlier and asked other states to emulate them. But when it comes to giving financial assistance for these schemes, there has been no response from the government. The state government alone cannot take up such schemes due to financial constraints. CM and ministers have met PM and union ministers several times seeking funds for these schemes but in vain. We will take up these issues in Parliament and try to secure funds," he added.
