Godavari water rises again

The flood water has already entered agricultural fields of villages in Devipatnam mandal.

KAKINADA: About 27 days after almost submerging villages with flood water, the river Godavari is once again in spate putting several villages in East Godavari and West Godavari districts at flood risk.

By 6 pm on Friday, 7,49,664 cusecs waters was discharged into the Bay of Bengal from Dowles-waram barrage, while 11,500 cusecs water was released into canals for agriculture and drinking water purposes.

The water level at the temple town of Bhadrachalam, however, has receded as the water levels to 37.9 feet in the evening from 41.1 feet in the morning.
