Chennai: DMK president M Karunanidhi was discharged from hospital after a minor procedure on Wednesday. The doctors also examined the 93-year-old leader to evaluate his health.
In a statement, Kauvery Hospital executive director S.Aravindan said Karunanidhi was admitted for change of percutaneous endoscopic gastronomy (PEG) tube. After the completion of the procedure which took about 40 minutes, Karunanidhi was discharged.
His daughter Kanimozhi, who was at the hospital along with other family members, later told reporters that the tube must be replaced once every six months and that the former Chief Minister was fine.
