Sixty girl students from AVV junior college have adopted 30 saplings and tied Rakhi on them on Wednesday.

WARANGAL: Sixty girl students from AVV junior college have adopted 30 saplings and tied Rakhi on them on Wednesday. The campaign, ‘Vruksha Bandhan’, was organised by AVV College’s NSS wing and Lions Club of Warangal at the college. NSS programme officer Kodimala Srinivasa Rao said that the ‘Vruksha Bandhan’ was aimed at creating a bond between human beings and nature. “The youths need to get a sense of responsibility from a tender age. If they are made to do ecological activities, they would grow up with these ideals and will strive for a better environment in future. The students will take care of the saplings every day and will water them. They also will check their growth,” he said. Dr Chanda Vijay Kumar appreciated students for their green gesture. Lions Club president Dr Bhujendar Reddy others were present on the occasion.
