The government has to acquire 30 acres more for Kalvakurti project.

Hyderabad: Telangana state irrigation ministry is racing against time to complete acquisition of 300 acres of land for the Nettampadu project and another 200 acres for the Koilsagar project in Mahbubnagar district. The state government has also earmarked Rs 32 crore for rehabilitation of those affected by the reservoir projects at Gottimukkala and Singarajupalli. Irrigation minister T. Harish Rao on Monday reviewed the progress of the irrigation projects and asked collector Ronald Ross to complete the land acquisition without delay.

The officials told the minister that 70 per cent of the reservoir at Gottimukkala has been completed and Rs 32crore is required for rehabilitation works. Mr Rao said, “We will release Rs 10crore each for Singarajupalli and Gottimukkala reservoirs. There wouldn't any shortage of funds for the five projects in the district. Thummilla, Kalvakurti, Nettampadu, Koilsagar and Bhima projects should be completed as early as possible. By August, we should start one pump under Tummilla lift irrigation project. As soon as the water reaches Srisailam project, we have to start motor at Kalvakurti. That should be our plan of action.” The government has to acquire 30 acres more for Kalvakurti project.
