Manju to H D Kumaraswamy: Weep not, wipe tears of people

CM's emotional outburst will send wrong signal that Cong is responsible for it'

BENGALURU: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy should wipe the tears of people and not weep in public, says former minister A Manju while pointing out that the Congress handed the Janata Dal (Secular) leader important portfolios of his choice contrary to his claim that he was given venom by coalition partner Congress.

Talking to reporters here on Monday, the former minister said Mr Kumaraswamy's emotional outburst in public would send a wrong signal that Congress leaders and legislators were responsible for his misery, and would also hurt every Congressman. Instead, Mr Kumaraswamy should take on the onus of providing good administration by taking everyone into confidence in the coalition government.

“According to me, a coalition government is like a family and everyone must move together. Crying in public is not going to solve problems. The Chief Minister must address people's problems, and effectively manage the situation. It is not right on the part of Mr Kumaraswamy to shed tears in public,” he added.

Mr Manju said Congress leaders were embarrassed following the Chief Minister's statement that he was “'swallowing the pain of a coalition government” as it would tarnish the image of the party. The former minister disagreed with Janata Dal (Secular) patriarch H.D. Deve Gowda’s statement that only his son and Chief Minister Mr Kumaraswamy was working hard in the coalition government.
