Mangaluru: Two women were killed and 11 seriously injured in a bus accident at Charmadi Ghat on Tuesday afternoon.
Dakshina Kannada district SP Bhushan Gulabrao Borase confirmed that a private bus carrying around 40 passengers from Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh met with an accident at Charmadi Ghat. The passengers were on a tour of religious places. The deceased have been identified as Bhabunni and Hajibu. One of the injured passenger said the accident happened due to the brake failure of the bus. As many as 11 people have been shifted to Belthangady hospital in Mangaluru, the police said. The bus was on its way to Ullal Dargah after visiting Baba Budan Giri in Chikmagaluru, sources said.
