Bengaluru: ‘Unlimited immaturity!’

Mr Krishna also flayed leaders of other parties saying they \"lacked truth and evidence\" before making allegations.

Bengaluru: Former external affairs minister and BJP leader S M Krishna on Tuesday lambasted Congress president Rahul Gandhi for inviting the wrath of the Supreme Court with his comments on the Rafale jet case and accused the leader of lowering a political discourse to an all-time-low.

Describing Mr Gandhi as “Aprabuddha unlimited” (unlimited immaturity), he told the media here: “When somebody acquires a reputed position, especially in the case of the Congress president whose party has a history of 125 years, the sign of intellect should have been that the views are expressed cautiously after much deliberation. It's a sign of maturity. But what we witness today is unlimited immaturity. He (Rahul Gandhi) may have to stand in front of the top court as a criminal on April 23,” while pointing at the fact that the Supreme Court had pulled up Mr Gandhi for incorrectly attributing an alleged contemptuous observation “Chowkidar Narendra Modi chor hain” in the Rafale jet case.

Mr Krishna also flayed leaders of other parties saying they "lacked truth and evidence" before making allegations. "Whatever allegations are being made against the Prime Minister lacks truth, gravity and documentation.”

When asked about progress and development in case Mr Gandhi were elected as Prime Minister, Mr Krishna shot back “You should ask Mayawati or Akhilesh Yadav?. Why has Congress become untouchable? In Uttar Pradesh, the alliance of SP-BSP gave only two seats to Congress, taking pity on them. Do you need any other evidence than this to show how serious condition the Congress is in today?" he asked.

Speaking in support of Mr Modi’s policies, the former chief minister said Mr Modi should be elected for another term in order to provide leadership for accelerated development. “Our Prime Minister has no other habits, he works for 18 hours a day,” he added.

Mocking at Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Mr Krishna said “It is not easy for the Chief Minister to cry in a public rally, and not easy for any politician to cry in public. We have to ask Mr Kumaraswamy how to cry,” he said in response to a question even as he expressed confidence that independent candidate Mrs Sumalatha Ambareesh would emerge victorious in Mandya Lok Sabha constituency.
