Mega Medical exhibition in Guntur opens

It is sponsored by Katuri Medical College and Hospital in which 55 stalls about various medical treatment and advanced technology.

Guntur: Minister for medical and health K. Srinivas on Friday inaugurated a national-level mega medical exhibition, Katuri Medi Carnival-2017, at Guntur, where he asked medical students and doctors to be aware of the latest treatments and technology that could help cure diseases..

The Carnival will continue till December 21. It is sponsored by Katuri Medical College and Hospital in which 55 stalls about various medical treatment and advanced technology. He said that this carnival is very helpful to the medicos and intermediate students to know about the human organ system, diseases and treatments.

He asked the medical students to explain various diseases and modern treatments to people visiting the carnival. Mr Srinivas asserted the need for more medical carnivals under continuous medical education concept. Katuri CEO S.N.S.R. Sekhar said that entry is free for public and students to the carnival and appealed the public to make good use of the carnival.

College Principal Dr Subhadra Devi said that 25 medical departments were focusing on disseminating information about different preventive aspects, treatment modalities and latest advances in the medical field. She said that some of the attractions at the exhibition were skeletal dance, melting man, puppet show, talking foetus, cardiopulmonary resuscitation training, screening for obesity, diabetes, bone densityShe added that various lesions of the gastrointestinal system from oral cavity to anus have been displayed as a walk-in model.
