Nellore: Renowned music director A.R. Rehman has offered prayers at the Masthanvali Dargah in Kasumuru of Venkatachalam mandal in SPSR Nellore district after midnight on Thursday. He was accompanied by his son A.R. Ameen and they have spent nearly 40 minutes inside the dargah where 240th Gandham (applying sandalwood paste to the tomb of Masthanvali) festival was in progress. The Mozart of Madras is a regular visitor to the dargah.
Kadapa Pedda Dargah Seer Arifullah Husseini has performed special rituals in the presence of Mr Rehman and blessed the them. Devotees vied with each other to have glimpse of the Oscar Award Winner and the police had a tough time in controlling the swelling crowds. After spending about an hour in the premises of the Dargah, Mr Rehman left to Chennai. Meanwhile Kadapa seer performed Gandham ritual in the midst of thousands of devotees during the early hours of Friday.
