Andhra Pradesh inks MoU with Singapore varsity

The NUS has agreed to work on a potential programme designed for supporting the senior public officials on public policies.

Vijayawada: The National University of Singapore (NUS) and government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Singapore to collaborate on three aspects of governance, Strengthening Knowledge and Practices of Governance and Public Administration, Independent Audit of Real-Time Monitoring System and Key Performance Indicators and Master Plan on Ease of Doing Business in Andhra Pradesh.

The MoU was signed by Mr Dinesh Kumar, chief secretary, government of Andhra Pradesh, Professor Kishore Mahbubani, Dean, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) and Associate Professor Tan Khee Giap, Co-Director, Asia Competitiveness Institute (ACI) at Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. The MoU signing was done in the presence of Mr Sanjay Gupta, secretary, Planning Department, government of Andhra Pradesh, Ms Tulika Avni Sinha, Consultant, Vision Management Unit, government of Andhra Pradesh and the ACI team.

The NUS has agreed to work on a potential programme designed for supporting the senior public officials on the formulation of public policies, and emerging governance models via case studies, seminars, research and field trips.

The ACI shall act as a platform for advanced executive training programmes for civil servants to study the formulation of public policies, economic situations and investment opportunities in the state of Andhra Pradesh, Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) and China. ACI at LKYSPP, NUS shall work with local government officials, think-tanks, senior national and local government officials.
