Reddy also informed the House that he has advised the police to delete the names of the accused involved in petty cases.

Home minister Ramalinga Reddy informed the Legislative Council on Wednesday that he had given instructions to the Superintendents of Police to identify nationals from Bangladesh who have infiltrated into Karnataka.

Replying to a question by BJP member V. Sunil Kumar, Mr Reddy said that he has already given instructions to the district administration not to issue voter identity cards and Aadhaar to Bangladesh nationals.

Mr Reddy also informed the House that he has advised the police to delete the names of the accused involved in petty cases. However, he has also advised the police to incorpoate in the rowdy list those who are habitual offenders.

To check crimes in the state, the government has already initiated a few steps including setting up of women police stations in all districts, setting up of of crime police stations in each commissionerate, installation of CCTVs in big cities and introduction of the Pink Hoysala system, Mr. Reddy explained.

To another question by former minister Govind Karjol, Mr. Ramalinga Reddy said the Bagalkot district police are investigating the missing case of a woman. Police have obtained call details of the mobile of the missing woman and will very soon resolve the case, Mr Reddy said.
