KURNOOL: Sensing danger over the inadequate security provided by the police in Kurnool district for the Praja Sankalpa Yatra, the YSR Congress party leader Gouru Venkat Reddy approached the Superintendent of Police Gopinath Jatti and sought his help in stepping up police cover to their leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
YSR Congress chief Jagan Mohan Reddy is surrounded by men in black clothes as immediate security cover. Followed by another layer of security around him. The security always crowds him in circles, allowing old and infirm people to meet Jagan. If the security personnel see able-bodied people trying to meet Jagan, they push them away.
This has caused problem in Proddatur, Yerraguntla and even at Idupulapaya, recalled a party functionary. A security officer said, Jagan is already wearing a bullet proof vest. in addition, the top class security cover is thrown around him still, the party functionaries. When contacted, Kurnool SP Gopinath Jatti said that they will provide whatever security is sought. it is not an issue, he added. He said that some leaders of that party approached and informed about their leaders yatra in the district.
