MK Stalin invites cadres for MK statue inaugural

Stalin exhorted party workers to avoid flocking to Anna Arivalayam, and urged them to instead fill up the YMCA ground.

Chennai: DMK chief and leader of Opposition (LoP) M.K Stalin has written a letter to party cadres over unveiling of his late father’s statue on December 16, and invited them to participate in the event.

In his letter, Stalin said, “Kalaignar was behind the making of Prime Ministers and Presidents in the Indian political arena. Words are not enough to speak about Karunanidhi’s history and his impeccable political career that spanned 80 years.”

Stating that the former DMK stalwart, who never lost in the elections, was elected 13 times for the state assembly, Stalin said, “The gigantic political figure was a pioneer by making history in political circles.”

“As a mark of respect and to spread his political achievements to the world, the great politician ‘Kalaignar’ is emerging in the form of a statue next to his political ‘guru’ CN Annadurai on December 16 at Anna Arivalayam,” the LoP said, adding that the statue was sculpted in a lively manner.

“The statue is to be unveiled by AICC leader Sonia Gandhi, who respected Kalaignar as her father. Further, Andhra Pradesh CM, N Chandrababu Naidu, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Puducherry and Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, would participate in the event,” Stalin added.

Stating that the statue unveiling event would be held in Anna Arivalayam by 5 pm on December 16, Stalin said, “Since space would not be enough for all party cadres inside the premise of the party headquarters, the rest of the function would be held at the YMCA ground, at Royapettah, by 5:30 pm.”

Stalin exhorted party workers to avoid flocking to Anna Arivalayam, and urged them to instead fill up the YMCA ground. “This is our family celebration and we have certain responsibilities. So, we should maintain decorum and discipline,” he said politely in the
letter.
