BWSSB needs time, bad roads to stay in Horamavu, TC Palya

A senior BBMP officer said that the pressure is mounting on the Palike to restore the roads, but the BWSSB is yet to finish its work.

Bengaluru: The residents of Horamavu and T.C. Palya main road have to wait for a few more months for roads in their areas to be restored as the BWSSB has claimed that they will require more than three months to complete laying of water and sanitary pipes.

The residents protested against bad roads and asked the BBMP to repair the roads. But the BWSSB has sought more time to complete the works.

A senior BBMP officer said that the pressure is mounting on the Palike to restore the roads, but the BWSSB is yet to finish its work. “Until they complete the work, we cannot take up the repairs. We have asked BWSSB to finish the work at the earliest, as the residents and motorists are complaining every day,” he said.

A senior BWSSB official said that they are trying to finish the work by December-end or February next year. “There is a lot of pending works, which need to be completed and we are speeding it up. We do understand that the roads are in a bad shape, but we want to do quality work so that we don’t have to dig roads to repair pipelines after the roads are laid,” he said. The officer also said that they are planning to hand over some funds to the BBMP for laying the roads.
