Coimbatore: It is a matter of pride for Coimbatore as three higher education institutions from here have been awarded Swachhata ranking 2017. This award is given to higher education institutions (HEIs) in the university, college, technical and government institution category. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham was awarded in the technical institution category, while S N R Sons College and K.G. College of Arts and Science have been chosen for the award in the college category.
“In August, a team from the ministry of human resource development paid a surprise visit to our campus. It observed the various cleanliness activities on our campus and sent its report. We are happy that we have bagged 5th rank in the college category,” Dr K. Karunakaran, principal, SNR Sons College said.
Dr A. Ebenezer Jeyakumar, director, Sri Ramakrishna Group Institutions, and Dr K. Karunakaran received this award from minister for HRD Prakash Javadekar in New Delhi on Thursday.
