People who lost houses will be given Rs 4 lakh while those who lost both house and land will get Rs 10 lakh.

Alappuzha: Finance minister T.M. Thomas Isaac on Tuesday said that the relief fund for people living in camps was hiked to Rs 38,000 to Rs 10,000. He was talking at a review meet at SDV Centenary Hall.
People who lost houses will be given Rs 4 lakh while those who lost both house and land will get Rs 10 lakh. First challenge is now to wash murk from houses. Clean up drives were to be conducted to collect plastic and waste gushing in through floodwater. For this, all officials and Kudumbashree units under local governments should be take up clean up drives.
“We are hoping clean up drives will be over by August 25. After that the area will be protected with the help of NREGA workers,” the minister said.
