Amit Shah talks to Tushar Vellapally, summons Kummanam Rajasekharan

Following this development, SNDP yogam general secretary Vellapally Natesan has also toned down his attack on the BJP.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The BJP central leadership has finally decided to take up the demands of BDJS and other NDA allies ahead of the Chengannur by-election. National president Amit Shah has summoned state president Kummanam Rajasekharan and organising general secretary M. Ganesh to New Delhi where they are expected to discuss the issues raised by the BDJS.

Mr Amit Shah had a telephonic talk with BDJS president Tushar Vellapally two days ago when he promised to consider the BDJS demands for appointments to central boards and corporations. Following this development, SNDP yogam general secretary Vellapally Natesan has also toned down his attack on the BJP.

Mr Amit Shah has called a meeting of all the state BJP presidents and organising general secretaries in New Delhi to discuss the preparations for the Assembly elections in Mizoram, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh later this year and early next year.

"Though Vellapally Natesan has been attacking the BJP, his son Tushar had maintained a studied silence. Former BJP state president V. Muraleedharan had claimed that BDJS votes will go in favour of the BJP in Chengannur," said a BJP leader. Mr Tushar has also repeated the same stand during the last two days. Mr Kummanam and Mr Ganesh, who will be in New Delhion Tuesday, will press Mr Shah to concede the BDJS demands in view of the by-election.
