Hyderabad: With in the backdrop of the Trump administration’s US visa rules impacting campus recruitments, the Telangana Innovation Incubation Centre at IIIT-Basara is providing technical and other assistance to students to set up start-ups. It is being supported by few foreign firms.

The incubation centre is the joint venture of the Telangana Information Technology Association and T-Hub, TITA founder president Sundeep Kumar Makthala said the incubation center would assist freshers and students desiring to set up start-ups in all universities in the state.

“Although we have our centre at IIIT-Basara campus, our teams will assist technology students from universities across the state. The centre enables and supports students and youth to transform their ideas into start-ups. It will also provide mentoring, funding, ideation and knowledge-based support,” he said.

He said the TITA had entered into separate MoUs with the IIIT-Basara and T-Hub. “All the three stakeholders will support start-up groups. A few groups have already succeeded,” he said.

The Japan-based SafeTraceHub, multimedia firm Prism Multimedia and US-based Adsidious are supporting start-ups at the incubation centre. “We will extend the services of the TIIC to the universities in phases. Our aim is to generate employment through start-ups apart from encouraging young entrepreneurs,” he said.
