Telangana government Information panel set in motion

The TS government has constituted the State Information Commission. Chief Secretary S.P. Singh issued orders to this effect on Wednesday.

Hyderabad: The TS government has constituted the State Information Commission. Chief Secretary S.P. Singh issued orders to this effect on Wednesday.

The existing AP Information Commission, that was listed under Schedule X of AP Reorganisation Act, 2014, had been functioning for both TS and AP after bifurcation, but became defunct in May with the retirement of the CIC and the information commissioners. 

The government on Wednesday constituted a committee comprising Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao as chairperson, and Opposition leader K. Jana Reddy and Deputy CM Mohd. Mahmood Ali as members to recommend candidates for appointment as CIC and commissioners.
