WARANGAL: The district collector Prashant J. Patil on Saturday cleared the line for the laying of the Inner Ring Road between Khammam road and Narsampet road.
Speeding up the land acquisition process, he assembled all the farmers and landowners who were going to lose land due to the propose road and negotiated the land rates with them.
Mr Patil said that the compensatory amount will be given as per the existing rates or an increased rate if the government decides so.
After the collector answered all the queries, the land owners formally agreed to hand over their properties for the project. This stretch will pass through Ursu, Thimmapur and some villages under Enumamula revenue circle.
The collector who recently released the draft notification for laying this 13 km stretch of the Inner Ring Road said the state government had released funds to the tune of Rs 105 crore for the required land acquisition of 83 acres for the proposed Inner Ring Road connecting all the routes to enter Warangal city.
The Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA) which is taking up the project has included the Inner Ring Road in its master plan. “Warangal is growing as the second largest city in the state and the floating traffic is increasing every day. The Inner Ring Road will go a long way in addressing the traffic issues being faced by the city”, Mr Patil said.
The collector further said that they had also negotiated with the landowners who were losing property due to the construction of two Rail over Bridges (RoBs), one near Ursu and another in Uppal village of Kamalapur mandal.
