30 lakh LPG connections to be provided to poor in FY17: Chandrababu Naidu

Naidu said food security, water conservation and broadband connectivity are his Government's priorities.

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Government aims to provide 30 lakh LPG connections to the BPL families in the current financial year, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said on Tuesday.

Naidu made the announcement during a review meeting on Social Welfare Department's performance held here, an official release said here.

He said food security, water conservation and broadband connectivity are his Government's priorities.

Speaking about welfare schemes launched for the poor, Naidu said the TDP-led Government has set a target to provide 30 lakh LPG connections to the BPL families in the current fiscal.

Subsidised ration and Government pension should reach all the poor families, Naidu said.

The Chief Minister directed officials to improve the quality of education and standards in all residential schools and colleges.

Naidu said his Government aims to promote entrepreneurship among the backward classes.
