Rs 13 crore my undivided family asset: Siddaramaiah

Siddaramaiah downplays ADR's claim that he is the sixth richest chief minister in India.

Bengaluru: Downplaying the claim of the Association for Democratic Reforms based on election affidavits that he was the sixth richest Chief Minister with assets worth Rs 13 crore, Mr Siddaramaiah told reporters here on Tuesday that the reference was to the combined wealth of his joint family.

“During the last elections, I disclosed the assets and liabilities of my undivided family. I was the head of the family after my brother passed away. Now, our properties have been divided,” the Chief Minister said, joking that the six crore people of the state were now his family.

Moving on Mr Siddaramaiah disclosed that Congress president, Rahul Gandhi would tour the Bombay-Karnataka region for three days from February 24.

“His tour will certainly benefit the party. In Gujarat, he single- handedly brought the party to the brink of victory. Here too, his tour would will lift the morale of the party,” the Chief Minister said.

On Prime Minister Narendra Modi accusing him of running a “ 10 per cent commission” government, Mr Siddaramaiah said that the charge was baseless as his government did not believe in doing things this way.

“If at all anyone has enjoyed commissions, it was during the previous Bharatiya Janata Party government,” he charged.
