Nellore/Ongole: Urban development minister P. Narayana and transport minister Sidda Raghava Rao reviewed the arrangements to deal with Vardah cyclone in Nellore and Prakasam districts. Both the ministers was stay put at the control rooms in both the districts giving instructions to official's on evacuation and other relief measures.
National Disaster Response Force teams have been stationed at Tada, Sullurpeta and Nellore. While Nellore district received an average rainfall of 29.6 mm in SPSR Nellore district, there was hardly any rain except drizzles in some places at Prakasam district on Monday.
The farm community of Prakasam which was banking on the cyclone for rain was totally disappointed with drizzles. Fishermen remained off the sea in 11 mandals in view of cyclone warning from last two days.
