Hyderabad: 2 bodies recovered a day after Yarada beach incident

Six of them were rescued with the help of local fishermen while another six of them had gone missing.

Visakhapatnam: The bodies of two of the six youngsters who had gone missing at the Yarada beach in Vizag city were recovered on Monday. The bodies were identified as those of N. Ganesh and K. Durga Rao.

The 12 friends in their early 20s had set out on a joy trip but turned into a tragedy when they were all dragged away from the shore by a strong current at Yarada beach on Sunday afternoon.

Six of them were rescued with the help of local fishermen while another six of them had gone missing. Their bodies were untraced. Inspector of New Port Police station G. Somasekhara Rao said Eastern Naval Command of Indian Navy launched search operation deploying crew in Gemini Boats and Chopper. So far two bodies were retrieved and the search will continue on Tuesday also, Mr Somasekhara Rao added.

The bodies have been shifted to King George Hospital in Vizag city.
