Chennai: Video of youth riding on rim of bus wheel goes viral: cops launch search

Chennai: The city police have launched a search for a youngster who travelled on the rim of an MTC bus wheel.

A video of a youngster standing on the rim of an MTC bus wheel while it was moving went viral on social media on Sunday, causing a huge public uproar and forcing the police to take action.

Police said that they have swooped on the government transport offices for clues on the bus and the college.

The youngster was standing on the rim of the back wheel of an MTC bus when the bus was moving at high speed. His friends on two-wheelers recorded the act on a mobile phone and one of the videos landed on the social media.

It may be noted that early on August, a group of Presidency College students was arrested for brandishing a machete while travelling on the footboard of crowded government bus.
