BJP welcomes all-party meet

The CPM leaders have been attempting to divide the Hindus on the basis of caste.

Kochi: The BJP on Monday welcomed the LDF government’s decision to convene an all-party meeting to evolve a consensus on the vexed Sabarimala issue, but cautioned the CPM against attempting to implement its ‘hidden agenda.’

“The CPM leaders have been attempting to divide the Hindus on the basis of caste. This, even as the protests against implementation of the recent Supreme Court order were being carried out by believers from all sections. The NDA is actively supporting them,” BJP national executive member and former state president P.K. Krishnadas told reporters at Tripunithura after the reception given to the ‘Sabarimala Samrakshana Ratha yatra’ led by BJP state president P.S. Sreedharan Pillai and BJDS president Thushar Vellapally.

Mr Pillai charged the LDF government with acting against the interests of believers who form about 90 per cent of society.
“The NDA stands to protect the faith of the believers. We won’t back out even if we are jailed,” he said.Mr Thushar clarified that the SNDP Yogam is with the believers.

“During the recent council meet, it was decided that the yogam will side with the believers. The reports otherwise are baseless. We hope that no women in the age group of of 10 to 50 who have faith in Lord Ayyappa will attempt to visit the hill shrine,” he said
