Six missing students found at Tirumala

The students gave a slip to the special class and went for a movie on Thursday.

TIRUPATI: The missing students from Matrusri Techno School in Tirupati were traced at Tirumala on Friday night. Six students, studying in Class X, did not return to their homes from school at Railway Colony of Tirupati on Thursday, following which their parents approached the police and registered a missing case. As a search operation began, all the missing boys were spotted at Tirumala by the police.

According to East Division CI M. Chandrababu Naidu, the students were identified as Vinay Kumar, Pujith Nayak, Vamsi, Balaji, Prashanth and Vinay. The students gave a slip to the special class and went for a movie on Thursday.

They then returned to the school late and principal M. Sudhakar caught them and questioned about their slip from school. The students agreed that they went for a movie, without informing their parents and school teachers. He warned them and asked to bring up their parents to school to inform the same. After this, the students came out of the school and didn’t return home.

Meanwhile, Principal M. Sudhakar denied the reports that he had threatened the students. “We informed the situation to the parents of the six pupils, before sending them out of school. We are not here to threaten or punish them. We want them to study in a disciplined environment and it was my duty to inform the parents about the students’ wrong behaviour,” the Principal said.

Parents said that the boys were threatened by the Principal and in fear, the students absconded. Based on a complaint from the parents, three special teams were formed to track the missing schoolboys. One of the teams spotted the boys around 8 pm on Friday at Tirumala and handed them over to their parents.
