N Chandrababu Naidu wants Emirates role in airports development

Naidu holds video conference with airline's Dubai authorities.

Vijayawada: The Chief Minister offered the Emirates to make Amaravati and Vizag a hub for their airlines. Mr Naidu on Thursday organized a video conference with Emirates team and invited them to operate services from Dubai to Amaravati and their partnership on Amaravati and vizag green field airport construction. Through a video conference, the Chief Minister spoke to Adnan Kazim, the Divisional Senior Vice President at Emirates, and proposed the establishment of a hub in Amaravati.

He told them that he would like to improve the connectivity between cities in Andhra Pradesh with Dubai, and develop more green-field airports like Visakhapatnam International Airport. According to a press release from Communication advisor’s office the team from Emirates was eager to renew old ties with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, and recalled the successful business ventures with him in Hyderabad.

Mr. Kazim said that a team from Emirates will soon be sent to survey the opportunities available, and the next steps will be discussed during the Chief Minister’s visit to Dubai on the 22nd October. He was told that he will be welcomed by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Emirates, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and the uncle of the ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Pennsylvania Ambassador Kanika Choudhary and Singapore government representative Raghu were also present for the meeting.
