Bengaluru: Staff from 3 Baldwin schools protest

A rape accused holding a respectable position implies a huge disrespect to the Baldwinian fraternity,â€a protester said.

Bengaluru: After three protests in three months by an institute run by the Baldwin Group in the city, staff members from three schools came together on Tuesday to intensify their demand for the removal of institution chairman.

“The Bishop and all his appointees should be removed as the allegations from parents, students and the staff have increased over the past few months. A rape accused holding a respectable position implies a huge disrespect to the Baldwinian fraternity,” a protester said.

On Friday, staff members of Baldwin Co-Education Extension School had taken to the streets demanding the immediate removal of manager Beena Unni Peter for allegedly abusing and making “disrespectful and baseless” remarks against them. On Tuesday, the staff from three schools jointly submitted an eight petition to the Human Rights Commission, Department of Women and Child Development and State Commission for Women, pointing out problems caused by the manager and her superiors. The management has asked the protesters 15 days to take a final decision on the matter.
