Visakhapatnam: Vizag MP K. Haribabu has written a letter to Union defence minister Manohar Parrikar requesting relocation of INS Viraat to Vizag. INS Viraat is getting decommissioned and being considered for relocating to one of the maritime states as a source of education, adventure, research and entertainment projects. The MP quotes that Pacific Consultants INC having their office in Vizag submitted their EoI to make use of INS Viraat in PPP mode to promote aqua tourism, education and research in AP. “Since Vizag is a tourist place and is being developed as a smart city, locating INS Viraat will be a step in this direction,” the letter reads.
