K Atchennaidu and Devineni Umamaheswara Rao inaugurate Amaravati bus service

Of the total 9 buses inaugurated, 6 buses will ply between Vijayawada and Hyderabad.

Vijayawada: Minister for transport K. Atchennaidu and minister for water resources Devineni Umamaheswara Rao inaugurated new Amaravati buses at Pandit Nehru bus station in Vijayawada on Monday. Of the total 9 buses inaugurated, 6 buses will ply between Vijayawada and Hyderabad and three between Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad.

Already, 35 Amaravati buses are being run by the RTC. Now, 30 more buses are going to be added to the fleet. With nine being inaugurated on Monday, 21 more would be in a month. Mr Atchennaidu said that, "We are aiming to provide better service to the passengers. As part of it, we are introducing more number of Amaravati buses. Gradually, the APSRTC is improving management skills and putting in efforts to reduce losses." Minister for water resources Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said: "The APSRTC is giving best services to the people." DGP and RTC in-charge MD M. Manikyala Rao, executive director A. Venkateswara Rao, other officials and staff participated in the programme.
