CRDA fails to convince Amaravati people

The landowners and various sections of people are worried of anti-campaign on capital developments.

Vijayawada: The Capital Regional Development Authority (CRDA) has set up a grievance cell but officials failed to communicate Amaravati capital plans by confusing the landowners and villagers. The landowners have given land for capital city works with the confidence over Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, but the CRDA could not keep the momentum in 29 villages.

Now the landowners and villagers are expressing doubts in various modes but officials neglected the important issues like green belt. Still the important demand for distributing master plan in Telugu version has not materialised. Likewise, the CRDA officials are not in a position to give clarity on roads formation plan and proposal for removal of houses.

Presently, the villagers are more worried on proposal of demolition of their houses. If it is compulsory for roads formation, the officials did not announce clear plan for compensation.

Moreover, speculations is rife in villages but the CRDA did not plan to interact with local people frequently, except conducting awareness meetings.

According to reports, the CRDA has unique powers under the supervision of commissioner with a team of IAS officers, but it failed to communicate the Amaravati capital related issues to the landowners and various sections of people belonging to Amaravati capital location villages. Especially, the commissioner failed to develop interaction with landowners and leaders of various sections.

The landowners and various sections of people are worried of anti-campaign on capital developments but the CRDA did not concentrate on opposing it.

Moreover, the CRDA commissioner never took part in public meetings except a few meetings related to land pooling. The commissioner is also not in touch with local media who are playing key role to pass the message to public. Signifi-cantly, the CRDA officials failed to deliver the information related to Amaravati capital to various publicity modes including the media. The communication team of the CRDA also confined to only its office.
