Telangana High Court not to take up RGV’s Amma Rajyamlo Kadapa Biddalu

The court made it clear that the revising committee of the Censor Board will decide on the matter.

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court made it clear that it would not interfere into the issue of censor certification to Ram Gopal Varma’s movie Amma Rajyamlo Kadapa Biddalu. The court made it clear that the revising committee of the Censor Board will decide on the matter.

“Whether or not to give U, A or U/A certificate will be decided by the Censor Board as per the rules of the Cinematography Act and, we, the courts cannot direct them to issue the certification or not to issue,” the Bench said on Wednesday, while dealing with the PIL seeking to set aside the censor certification to the movie. The court found fault with the petitioners for submitting that the certification was already had been issued to the movie and urged the court to set aside.

Assistant Solicitor General N. Rajeshwara Rao, appearing for the Censor Board, submitted on Wednesday that the certification had not been issued to the movie and the revised committee has not yet seen the movie after the changes made by the producer, based on its suggestions.
