The two approached the Wilson Garden police station and filed a complaint.

Bengaluru: Two men on a bike were robbed of Rs 24 lakh cash by a six-member gang, who came on bikes, in the Wilson Garden police limits on Monday night. The victims, who work for a cash logistics company in the city, were carrying the money to deposit it in their office.

The police said that the two employees, who work for Writer Safeguard - based in Wilson Garden, were heading to the office with Rs 24 lakh in a bag.

Around 10.30 pm, when Devendra and Manjunath were riding on the KSRTC service road in Wilson Garden, three bikes with six armed men intercepted them. The gang then threatened the two and decamped with the cash.

They were carrying the cash back to the office after collecting it from various business establishments and institutions in the city. They were to submit the cash at the company, which would have deposited it in ATMs across the city.

The two approached the Wilson Garden police station and filed a complaint. The police said that as per preliminary investigations, it appears that the dacoits could be planning the heist for the last few days after observing the movement of cash handling agency employees. The dacoits also knew that the victims were carrying cash and which route they would take. Police are further investigating.
