Ravi Belagere case: Sunil Heggaravalli files complaint over threat call

Heggaravalli on Monday approached the Subramanyapura police and lodge a complaint against Belagere.

Bengaluru: Editor of Kannada weekly 'Hai Bangalore' Ravi Belagere seems to be getting into more trouble after the "threat call" he made to his friend-turned-foe Sunil Heggaravalli from the custody of Central Crime Branch custody on Sunday.

Heggaravalli on Monday approached the Subramanyapura police and lodge a complaint against Belagere over the alleged threat he received over phone. Heggaravalli claimed in his complaint that he received a call from the phone of Madhu, who is known both to him and Belagere. As he answered the call, Madhu, according to Sunil, handed over the phone to Belagere, who questioned him about the statement to the media about the relationship with his wife Yashomathy.

The police have filed a non-cognisable report (NCR) as they do not see the call as a threat. Sunil has shared the information about the "call" to the CCB for further investigation.

Meanwhile, joint police commissioner (crime) N. Sathish Kumar has sought an answer from DCP Jitendra Kanagavi on the alleged phone call Belagere made to Heggaravalli.

Why was Belagere allowed to make call, smoke: Reddy
Furious over Ravi Belagere smoking inside the police jeep while being taken to the CCB office, Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy has reportedly called up City Police Commissioner T. Suneel Kumar and questioned him about the police letting Belagere smoke in the jeep and in custody.
