Telangana gets Rs 70 crore for Amrut projects

The total approved size of the state annual action plan (SAAP) is Rs 702.98 crore for the remaining mission period extending to 2020.

Hyderabad: The Centre has released Rs 70.23 crore to the state under under Amrut as the first instalment of the Central assistance of Rs 351.15 crore. These funds are to be utilised for projects related to water supply, sewerage and parks in Amrut cities.

The total approved size of the state annual action plan (SAAP) is Rs 702.98 crore for the remaining mission period extending to 2020. The Centre said that the payment was being released on the basis of estimated project cost and any excess or shortfall would be adjusted in the second tranche.

The Centre said the diversion of grants for any other purpose was not allowed and would entail levy of penal interest. It may adversely impact the release of grants.

The Centre said that as per the mission guidelines, the state government is required to release Central assistance funds along with state share to the nodal account of the state mission within one month or interest would be levied.
