Vijayawada: A new-born child died after 25 days and the parents alleged that it happened due to the negligence of the doctors. “My wife was taken to the hospital last month after developing labour pains and delivered there,” her husband Anil Krishna said. He claimed that the doctors told them that the baby needs special care. The couple then visited the child specialists hospital located in Surya Rao Pet Police station limits.
“The doctors kept the baby in Intensive care for 23 days and said that the baby is recovering. They charged nearly Rs 6 lakhs and I observed that the baby changed colour. I rushed the baby to another super speciality hospital. where they said that the baby was fully infected and the functions of the baby were poor. Within hours the baby died,” said Anil Krishna. “The doctors negligence was the reason we lost our baby,” he alleges.
However, the hospital management refuted the charges, saying that the couple and their family members were making false allegations. “There is nothing wrong on the part of the doctors at the hospital. When the baby got admitted, the doctors had already explained the risk and complications and they still agreed to go ahead,” Dr. Subba Rao said. He added that the doctors even advised the family not to discharge the baby under these circumstances but they went ahead against medical advice and made these allegations.
