Women safety, healthcare on top priority for CPR

Although the BJP brought out its poll manifesto at the national level for the 2019 general election.

Chennai: Ensuring women safety, especially in the wake of Pollachi sexual abuse incident, easy access to health for all and tourism are among the top priorities of BJP former State president C. P. Radhakrishnan, who is contesting from Coimbatore Lok Sabha constituency. The two-time MP has pinned high hopes on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the AIADMK alliance for a massive victory.

Although the BJP brought out its poll manifesto at the national level for the 2019 general election, Radhakrishnan has come out with his own manifesto. He has planned to help Coimbatore catch up with the digital transformation being witnessed across the country. "Steps will be taken to provide skill training to women SHG members to enable them take up income generating trade on their own and also measures will be taken to provide them additional aid," he says.

Establishing a single window in Coimbatore for facilitating all the Central schemes to reach the beneficiaries expeditiously, Radhakrishnan says the Coimbatore GH will be upgraded into world class hospital if he is elected. Steps will be taken to establish children and maternity hospital. He has assured to ensure greater safety to school and college students besides women’s safety by launching a mobile app.

Opening the office of Union Tourism Ministry in Coimbatore to develop Coimbatore and Nilgiris as ideal tourist destinations in the State, establishing a youth hostel at Coimbatore and striving to include more beneficiaries under the Central government’s Ayushman Bharat Yojana, which provides free coverage of upto Rs. 5 lakh, are among his other poll promises. C. P. Radhakrishnan is pitted against P. R. Natarajan of Communist Party of India (Marxist) and P. Govindan of Bahujan Samaj Party.
