No camera phone in SSC: Kadiyam Srihari

SSC exams will be conducted in 2,615 centres statewide.

Hyderabad: Education minister Kadiyam Srihari has instructed chief superintendents in SSC exam centres to carry mobiles that do not have camera option while on exam duty. This decision was taken in view of allegations that invigilators were clicking pictures of exam papers and forwarding it to outside numbers.

Except for the chief superintendents, no invigilator or staff would be allowed to carry a mobile phone while on exam duty. SSC exams will be conducted in 2,615 centres statewide. Mr Srihari was speaking at a video conference at the Secretariat with collectors of 10 districts on arrangements for SSC exams.

Students would be given a five-minute relaxation this year. The exams will be held from 9.30 am to 12.15 pm. Students would be allowed inside exam halls till 9.35 am, an official said. The traffic police has been asked to help students and parents to locate examination centres, especially in Hyderabad. The department could deploy vans to ferry students to nearby examination centres. In all 5.21 lakh students will be appearing for the SSC exams, set to start from March 21, in 10 districts.
