CISCE lowers pass marks for Class X and XII

The pass mark has been reduced from 35 to 33 for Xth standard and from 40 to 35 for XIIth standard.

HYDERABAD: Students breathed a sigh of relief with the announcement by the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) to lower the pass mark for class X and class XII board examinations from 2018.

The pass mark has been reduced from 35 to 33 for Xth standard and from 40 to 35 for XIIth standard.

Principals said that they were expecting this change from 2019 as many talks were held. Students are happy as the exam season has begun on a positive note, they said.

Reshma Joshi, headmistress of Aurobindo International School, said, “We are yet to receive an official notification. Since it was announced by a senior official we are taking it as a confirmation.”

The ISC examinations have been scheduled from February 7 and will end on April 2. The ICSE examinations have been scheduled from February 26 to end on March 28.
