Kollam: Over 150 bikes, car charred in fire at Karunagappalli railway station

The fire was spotted by around 2.45 pm along the North end of the parking lot behind the railway station.

Kollam: Over 15 motorcycles and a car were completely charred in a fire that broke out in the parking lot of Karunagappalli railway station on Wednesday.

The fire was spotted by around 2.45 pm along the North end of the parking lot behind the railway station.

The fire was brought under control by a unit of fire fighters from Karunagappalli fire station rushed to the spot. The motorcycles and a car that belonged to regular rail passengers were found to have damaged completely.

The fire was first spotted by the locals who failed in dozing off the fire as the fuel tanks of the vehicles exploded with loud noise. The fire station officer V.C. Viswanath, who was along with the fire fighting team, in his preliminary inference has found the fire spread from dry grass in the area ignited by unknown reasons.
