Hyderabad HC satisfied with polling procedure

They had requested the deployment of central security forces at polling stations.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Monday expressed its satisfaction on the way the elections were organised in the state without major untoward incidents.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan and Justice S.V. Bhatt said this after going through the report on the elections submitted by the Chief Electoral Officer on Monday.

After perusing the report, the court opined that its content did not require any order for further action.

Expressing satisfaction, the bench closed the petitions of Congress candidate Feroz Khan and the MBT’s Muzaffer Ullah Khan, both from Nampally, who had sought directions to the Election Commission to install Closed Circuit cameras in polling booths.

They had requested the deployment of central security forces at polling stations.

It may be recalled that the High Court has directed the CEO to submit report on conduct of elections based on the plea.
